Do we need a reservation?
A reservation is suggested, however we always try to accommodate walk-ins.

May I request a specific room or table?
We will attempt to accommodate all table requests. Private rooms may be available for larger parties. Please alert our hostess to any special requests when making the reservation.

Does The Whitney do anything special for birthdays?
Paul Suriano, our pastry chef, prepares fabulous cakes and desserts for all special occasions. We can arrange for birthday candles, the name of the birthday person, or a unique design to be incorporated in your dessert selection. Our reservation staff will be happy to provide details.

Is there a charge for valet?
The Whitney is pleased to offer complementary valet service. A gratuity is suggested.

Does The Whitney offer a shuttle to Detroit events and attractions?
Yes, The Whitney provides a shuttle to many cultural and sporting events. Please ask our hostess for details when making your reservation.

What can I expect to pay?
Lunch is priced between $7 - $15
Dinner ranges from $19 - $39 with most selections in the $20’s and low $30’s.

How far in the future may I make my reservation?
The Whitney takes reservations anytime up to a year in advance for individual reservations. It is recommended that larger groups be made at least two weeks before the reservation date. Signed contracts and applicable deposits may be required to hold large group reservations. Please contact our event manager at 313-832-5709 for group reservation details.

Does The Whitney offer vegetarian dishes?
Yes, The Whitney will always have a vegetarian entrée on the menu.

Does The Whitney cater outside events?
Yes, The Whitney can support all of your event needs. Please refer to the catering and private dining sections of the website for more detail. Our Chef, Michael Lutes will accommodate any and all dietary requests. Do not hesitate to call in advance with any concerns.

What days does The Whitney close for business?
Generally, Memorial Day, The Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Day and New Years Day. Please contact us regarding specific holiday closings. We are closed Sunday night and all day Monday, aside from special events.

When may I use a coupon or other promotional discount?
Every coupon or discount promotion clearly states the valid dates for usage. Once expired, these discounts are no longer valid. Read your discount promotion carefully for terms and conditions. Only one discount or promotion may be used at any single visit to The Whitney per table or per group.
